Service Description

This class is appropriate for anyone who has taken Wheel 1 at least once. Students will elaborate on their wheel skills, while learning various hand-building techniques to embellish their wheel pieces. WEEK 1 - Students will throw a mug on the wheel. Following this, students will learn how to make both a coil and slab handle (foundation handbuilding techniques). Various sculpting techniques will also be demonstrated. If time allows, students can add handbuilt embellishments to their mugs. WEEK 2 - Students will trim their mugs and learn how to properly attach handles and any other embellishments. Students will conceptualize and design their next piece incorporating both wheel and handbuilding elements. WEEK 3 - Students will execute the construction of their designs and make further projects if time allows. WEEK 4 - Students will glaze their pieces. ** 12.5 pounds of clay included. You are welcome to purchase additional clay.
